Materials

AMES offers in its catalogues more than 250 sintered materials whose chemical composition, density and manufacturing process are designed for the specific functionality of the component:

Low and medium alloy steels for mechanical use, both for structural parts and self-lubricating bearings, which use a wide variety of alloying elements, such as Mo, Ni, Cu, Cr or Mn.

■ Austenitic (3XX series), ferritic (4XX series) and martensitic (4XX series) stainless steels, for applications under corrosion or oxidation and for filters.

Refractory steels for mechanical applications at high temperatures.

Soft magnetic materials made of iron or iron alloys with P, Si or Ni for applications in electrical machines and electromagnetic actuators.

Bronze and brass of various chemical compositions for self-lubricating bearings.

Aluminum for self-lubricating bushings that work in oxidizing conditions.

Titanium for biomedical applications.

Nickel and nickel-based alloys for filters working under severe oxidizing conditions.

■ Iron-based composite materials for self-lubricating bearings that work at high loads.

Double-layer materials for self-lubricating bushngs with the minimum coefficient of friction.

Micro-insulated materials for high frequency magnetic applications.

The AMES laboratories and factories incorporate a wide variety of mechanical and metallographic characterization and testing machinery, including a scanning electron microscope, determination of magnetic properties, porosity characterization, as well as chemical analysis and other physical properties.

AMES puts these resources and its research power at the disposal of its customers for the development of materials required of new innovative applications.
